Our client in the videogame sector faced a unique challenge: expanding their legendary game, originally available only in Iberian Spanish, to the Latin American Spanish market. The challenge involved handling an enormous amount of text under an extremely tight deadline and resolving complex gender tags & variables typically not handled well by AI. Using our propietary tool [AI]Round, we successfully adapted 7 million words in a matter of weeks, demonstrating how a strategic partnership between human expertise and artificial intelligence, combined with close client cooperation, sets a new benchmark for increasing language accessibility and adding value in our localization workflows.

A leading multinational telecommunications company announced the addition of two indigenous languages, Kaingang and Nheengatu, to their devices as part of their “Smarter Technology for All” brand vision to embrace inclusivity. Kaingang is spoken by around 20.000 people in southern Brazil, and Nheengatu by some 6.000 in the Amazon region. RoundTable Studio bought laptop computers for the team of designated translators in remote locations. We assisted with equipment setup and system installation remotely from our Buenos Aires production center. The translators had to be trained on technology and tools, which involved the support of our IT and language teams to solve technical issues and help with tools usage, software localization guidelines, and processing methodology. Our team managed to successfully meet the planned completion date, having processed close to 200.000 words over a six-month period.

A South Korean key player in the digital comics market with a strong presence in multiple countries decided to venture into the booming Latin American market and saw a strategic opportunity to capture a passionate new audience by seeking RoundTable Studio’s creative pool of talents to assist in the localization of their published online comics into Latin American Spanish. By combining solid industry knowledge with unique expertise in the best localization practices, we led the efforts to successfully make +150 titles of all genres (including romance, fantasy, action, comedy, horror, sci-fi, and more) available to the LatAm audience on a rolling basis. Many of these titles also offered the possibility to increase audience engagement by building specialized teams to translate directly from Korean source for a true representation of the story’s cultural context, humor, and emotional nuances.

A prominent developer of one of the most influential dark fantasy RPG franchises of all times engaged RoundTable Studio’s hard core gamer team to create a truly captivating experience for their Latin American Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. To accomplish this task, we adopted a strategic approach designed to assimilate the game’s original vibe, setting aside time to carefully review the valuable references shared and even play the actual game in Beta format to be able to identify the challenges upfront and suggest ideas to tackle them more efficiently. A shared decision-making process between the client language teams and RoundTable Studio’s was followed to agree upon key terminology. Through regular meetings, team discussions and active recording session participation, we fostered a deeper understanding of the game mechanics and aesthetics. Our audio recording solution in Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Venezuela, and Brazil processed over 600 hours of recording time per language, engaging more than 240 actors and delivering 20,000+ audio files per language. This experience has certainly enabled us to deliver a localized gaming experience that remains true to its roots and celebrates its diversity.

After meticulous language evaluations and multi-layered security assessments, our alliance with one of the largest American information technology giants was established in 2018. This collaboration prompted us to pursue ISO 27001 certification, strengthening our commitment to information security. Our partnership introduced an innovative content localization system aimed at boosting automation, crafted by our client and tested by our teams. This solution required RoundTable Studio’s highly specialized linguists to not only provide top notch translation and localization support, but also share valuable insights on functionality and offer suggestions for improvements. In the early stages, we were processing approximately 2 million words/year. Our flexible infrastructure enabled us to provide a reliable solution as we soon saw an unprecedented increase in our throughput to a staggering average of 3.5+ million words/month.
